Beatrice Joan Jocis

Beatrice Joan Jocis, age 87, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, she made her home in Trumbull for the past 54 years, where she and her beloved husband raised their family and built a life filled with love.

Beatrice was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and, most recently, great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world. She took immense pride in each of them, but nothing brought her greater joy in recent years than spending time with her great-grandson, affectionately known as “Zammy.” He was truly the light of her life.

After retiring from many dedicated years with the Trumbull Tax Assessor’s Office, Beatrice embraced the opportunity to devote herself more fully to the things she loved. She was endlessly creative and found joy in crafting, decorating, knitting, cross-stitching, and crocheting. She had a gift for making everything look “pretty” and was never shy about adding her own artistic touch to her home décor — often and with great enthusiasm. She took pride in keeping a beautiful home and found equal satisfaction outdoors, tending to her yard and nurturing the vibrant flowers that bloomed each summer. She also had a way of bringing humor and levity to every family gathering.

She is survived by her son, Marcus Paul Jocis of Oxford; her daughter, Lisa Mostafa of Trumbull; her grandchildren, Kaelyn Mostafa along with her husband, Matthew Seferian and Alia Mostafa, along with her husband, Adolfo Garcia; and her cherished great-grandson, “Zammy.” She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Paul Jocis, her sister, Doris Kowalkowski, and her nephew, Edward Kowalkowski.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow at Nichols Village Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
